Chillington Church
Chillington: St James’ – on the ancient pilgrimage route to the 
south coast and on the Santiago de Compostela (spelling???)
)Barrington Church
Barrington: The Blessed Virgin Mary – rare octagonal tower – 
most complete yew arch in somerset – grave of one of Lord 
Nelson’s lieutenants.
Cudworth Church
Cudworth: St Michael’s – you can’t help loving this rough 
diamond among rural churches, part of which dates back to 
Norman times; “elegant in it’s simplicity”.
Kingstone Church
















Kingstone: St John and All Saints – big, square, stolid, permanent.   
Built to last and by golly it will!  
One of the friendliest churches in Somerset.

Dowlish Wake
Dowlish Wake: St Andrew’s – a Victorian building with a Norman 
tower on the site of a Saxon church; stands on a bluff of land 
overlooking the village.

Shepton Beauchamp Church
Shepton Beauchamp: St Michael and All Angels’; 
formerly very high church in tradition and once
 the centre of the Oxford Movement in Somerset; 
now a very friendly village church.

Stocklinch Church
Stocklinch: St Mary Magdalen – historically spelt without the                                                                       last “e” in Magdalen.  This is the Lower Church, one of two in the village.
